Mary dropped off the kids at school and began driving home. She entered and intersection on a green light. Halfway through the intersection, an SUV crashed into her car from the left. The SUV driver had been talking on his cell phone and didn’t notice the red light. Mary’s arm was broken and a disc in her lower back was damaged. It took her two surgeries and 6 months to get back to her usual routine. Even then, her back never felt like it had before the collision.
The SUV driver’s insurance did not offer to pay for the damage. They did not pay for the medical treatment. In fact, they wrote to Mary and told her that their “investigation” showed that the accident was her fault.
Mary is a typical personal injury client. She did not want to file a personal injury lawsuit. She did not want to hire a lawyer. But this wasn’t her fault – and she was paying the price.
At Stotis & Baird Chartered, we work to protect people like Mary. We do this by offering her three things: Trust, Skill and Integrity. If these aren’t the first words the come to mind when you think of a personal injury lawyer – they should be.
We hope that you will find the articles and information below helpful. Still, it is not a substitute for individual advice. If you have questions – please feel free to give us a call.
